Tsrugajo Healthy Marathon Meet-----Part One-----

Takayuki signed up for Tsrugajo Healthy Marathon Meet on the tenth of October this year. He and I thought that it was good that he had some practice for the meet and he built up his strength. But the thought was different from the real state.

First, when he turned in the application form to his elementary school teacher, she said "You are slow, but you will run in the meet?" When I heard that from Takayuki, I thought his teacher was hard and I felt the meet seems like a competition.

Second, I asked mothers about Tsrugajo Healthy Marathon Meet, and I got some information. According to the information, entrants were all relay athletes of their schools.

I thought that it would be good if he didn't run. But he still tried for the marathon, and he had some training voluntarily. I didn't know why, but I felt good about that.

Third, the day of the meet, it was a very beautiful day and a typhoon just had passed, I saw the list of entrants for the first time. I felt entrants were a small number of people, so they were almost all relay athletes of his or her school. Obviously, it was a competition!

Tsrugajo Healthy Marathon Meet -----Part Two-----

Forth, the starting speed was too fast like a short distance race. So Takayuki and some people who didn't look like relay athletes were late from the first group in no time. When I saw that, I only hoped that Takayuki wouldn't drop out of the race.

He continued running, but he couldn't run fast. At last, he reached the finish line. I was very glad and very proud of him, and I couldn't help buying a new toy for him.

Fifth, I saw what I didn't want to see. The next day, Ryuichi found an article about the Tsrugajo Healthy Marathon Meet in the newspaper. It said all the people who ran the whole race. It was okay for me, but it showed all ranking too. It was natural because it was a competition.

The article showed that my son came last but one in the race. Maybe some people ran after him, but they couldn't reach the finish line. I didn't know that, till I saw that. I had mixed feelings.

Now, Takayuki doesn't want to run the race next year, because he felt it was hard to breathe. I want him to take part in the race, but I don't want to see the ranking in the newspaper, and I don't want other people to see the ranking.
